About the school

The 2,100 St. George’s College students, from around twenty countries, spread across three sites, Early Years and Junior in Lima and the large and spread-out Secondary section in the wetlands suburb of Villa affording multiple opportunities for fieldwork and projects. It is an active, vibrant, ninety-two year-old, co-ed, lay, day school boasting the Fieldwork curriculum continuum and the IB Diploma and Careers Programmes feeding local and international universities. The Diploma has a very generous set of course options. <br /> Accreditations include Round Square(RS), Latin American Heads Conference and British School in Peru. The school places a heavy emphasis on student wellbeing, ESD, STEAM at every grade level, arts of all types, debating and sports. Through RS, 2024 will see 11 plus individual exchanges around the world, in addition to group visits including Claremont, Disney’s CodEd in Orlando and Paris and ISCA. One hundred and thirty students travelled abroad this year.

Graham Gisby
Dr. Graham Gisby has worked throughout his career as Head of a plethora of premium internationally minded day schools, mainly in Peru. Each of them underwent a massive learning improvement experiences during his tenure. He is dedicated to his staff, seeing them as the prime route to student academic and emotional success, leading inevitably to amazing learning, engaged students, satisfied parents and a full and content school.<br /> He leads by example, preferring to work in small highly effective cells of experts in their fields to draw ideas and projects together to weave a vibrant and caring tapestry of life changing experiences and opportunities for all.<br /> A chemist by first profession his interests are wide and varied, including music, playing flute and saxophone, being a registered Peruvian composer, all things garden, including breeding carnivorous plants, growing and producing his own chocolate, hydroponics and tending to his Monarch Butterfly sanctuary. He has qualifications in five European languages, including Biblical Greek.<br /> Obsessed with healthy living, he has formally introduced gourmet culinary arts into some of his schools, one of which has helped fuel the hugely popular gastronomic revolution that has placed Peruvian cuisine amongst the best in the world. An unashamed technophile, he has ensured that all of his schools have been at the forefront of the information revolution.<br /> Perhaps his most satisfying lifetime achievement has been to take a leading role at a national level establishing the first school in Peru to seek out each year nine hundred of the brightest yet most disadvantaged students across the country to give them a top-class education and a brilliant future that would otherwise just have remained a dream for them.
